Whiplash was conceived by two friends and work colleagues, Alex Lawes and Alan Wolfe while employed together at Rye River Brewing Company back in 2016. The pair started out initially by renting brewery equipment at the weekend, producing small batch releases with high ambitions. While experimenting in rented space in Wicklow and friend’s breweries around Ireland, the pair quickly gained recognition and after forming Whiplash as a company were soon awarded the Honest Brew's Breakthrough Brewery award as well as finding themselves as Ireland's top-rated brewery on Untappd. Now based in Cherry Orchid, Dublin, Whiplash focus on crafting big stouts, lagers, IPA's and mixed fermentations.
