The Porterhouse has been a pillar of the Irish Craft Beer scene for many years now and is home to the multi-award-winning ‘Plain Stout’. Cousins and founding members Oliver Hughes and Liam LaHart opened their first brewery in 1983 in Blessington, Co. Wicklow by the name of Harty’s Brewery. Though this venture would prove unsuccessful, the two persisted and eventually opened Dublin’s first Brew Pub in 1996. The pair would soon go on to build a team and portfolio that has helped to cement the brand not only as a powerhouse of craft brewing in Ireland but around the world. Their most recent 120-barrel facility was opened in January 2018 in Glasnevin, Co. Dublin.
