Trappist Rochefort
The renowned Rochefort Trappist Brewery of Belgium dates back to 1899 and is associated with the Rochefort Abbey, originating in the 13th century. Steeped in history, the earliest recorded mention of a brewery at the monastery dates from 1595 and records suggest it was then closed in 1794. Today, the brewery produces three Trappist beers, Rochefort 6, Rochefort 8 and Rochefort 10. The names refer to gravities in a now-obsolete system of Belgian degrees. These are extremely well-established brews, crafted to perfection over many years.
